Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or dill, chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets, leaving at least an inch of space between them.
  5. Brush half of the lemon butter mixture over the tops and sides of the fillets.
  6. Cook at 390°F for 6 minutes.
  7. Open the basket and brush the remaining butter mixture over the fillets.
  8. Cook for another 3-6 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  9. Let the salmon rest in the basket for 2 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Pat the salmon completely dry for crispy edges. Let fillets sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before cooking for even cooking. If garlic burns easily in your air fryer, substitute with 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. For dairy-free, use olive oil instead of butter. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes.
