These warm, buttery turkey sliders with a tangy-sweet cranberry aioli are the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer for Friendsgiving. Easy to make ahead and perfect for feeding a hungry crowd.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (like King’s Hawaiian)
  • 1 1/2 pounds deli-sliced roasted turkey breast
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese (or provolone)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion

Instructions

  1. Make the Cranberry Aioli: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, cranberry sauce, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Assemble the Sliders: Spread the cranberry aioli evenly over the cut side of the bottom rolls. Layer the sliced turkey on top, overlapping slightly. Place Swiss cheese slices over the turkey. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
  4. The Magic Butter Wash: In the same small bowl, whisk together melted butter, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and dried minced onion. Brush this mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
  5. Bake: Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes, until tops are golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Rest and Serve: Let the sliders rest in the pan for at least 5 minutes before cutting. Use a sharp knife to cut along the seams of the rolls to separate into 12 sliders.

Notes

Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes after baking to prevent them from falling apart. The cranberry aioli can be made a day or two ahead. For a spicier version, add sriracha or cayenne to the aioli. To make ahead, assemble sliders (without butter wash) and refrigerate; add butter wash just before baking.
