Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 shots (1/4 cup) hot espresso or strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup cold oat milk
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Brew 2 shots of hot espresso or 1/4 cup strong coffee.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar to a mason jar or cocktail shaker. Add optional cinnamon or vanilla if desired.
  3. Pour the hot espresso over the brown sugar and stir briefly to help dissolve.
  4. Add about 1 cup of ice cubes to the jar.
  5. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until frothy.
  6. Fill a serving glass with fresh ice.
  7. Pour 1 cup cold oat milk over the fresh ice.
  8. Strain the shaken espresso mixture over the oat milk.
  9. Stir gently if desired and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Use hot espresso to ensure brown sugar dissolves completely. Shake vigorously for best foam. For a less sweet version, reduce brown sugar to 1 tablespoon. For a hot version, skip the ice and pour shaken espresso into warm oat milk.
