A quick and easy whipped feta dip with honey and za’atar, perfect for entertaining and versatile with pita, veggies, or grilled meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) feta cheese, crumbled
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) honey, preferably raw or wildflower
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) za’atar spice blend
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs like parsley or mint, finely chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crumble the feta cheese into small pieces. Soften the cream cheese if needed by microwaving for 10 seconds. Mince the garlic finely if using.
  2. Place the crumbled feta, softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and garlic into the food processor bowl.
  3. Pulse 5-6 times just to mix the ingredients roughly.
  4. Run the processor continuously for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is fluffy and whipped. Add a teaspoon of water or olive oil if too thick.
  5. Transfer the whipped feta to a serving bowl. Drizzle honey evenly over the top, then sprinkle za’atar generously. Add a swirl of olive oil and freshly ground black pepper.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately with warm pita, crisp veggies, or crusty bread. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 2 days.

Notes

Use good-quality feta for best flavor. Soften cream cheese before blending to avoid lumps. Adjust honey and lemon juice to taste. If too thick, add a little water or olive oil. Store leftovers in an airtight container and bring to room temperature before serving. For a warm dip, bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
