Crispy apple slices fanned out like nachos, drizzled with warm peanut butter and topped with chocolate chips, peanuts, and cinnamon. A quick, healthy snack that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 12 tablespoons warm water
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips (mini chips preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped peanuts (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples. Leave skin on, core, and slice as thinly as possible (about 1/8-inch thick). Toss slices with lemon juice to prevent browning. Let sit 2 minutes, then drain excess liquid.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine peanut butter and honey. Stir constantly until smooth and warm, about 2-3 minutes. Add warm water 1 tablespoon at a time until drizzly consistency. Alternatively, microwave in 15-second bursts, stirring between each.
  3. Fan apple slices on a serving platter in a single layer, slightly overlapping like nachos.
  4. Drizzle warm peanut butter mixture over apple slices in zigzags. Sprinkle chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, and cinnamon evenly on top. Finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
  5. Serve immediately while apples are crisp and drizzle is warm.

Notes

Slice apples as thinly as possible for best texture. Warm peanut butter gently to avoid seizing. Serve immediately for maximum crispness. For nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter or Wowbutter. For vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey and dairy-free chocolate chips.
