These easy crispy air fryer churro bites are a quick and fun treat that kids will love. They are crispy on the outside, tender inside, coated with cinnamon sugar, and made with simple pantry staples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (whole milk preferred, dairy-free alternatives work)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (freshly ground if possible)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • Optional: chocolate sauce or caramel dip for serving
  • Optional: powdered sugar for extra dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a smaller bowl, stir together melted butter, granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a sticky dough forms. Add more flour if too wet.
  5. Lightly flour your hands and pinch off small pieces of dough, rolling them into 1-inch balls.
  6. Mix cinnamon and 1/4 cup granulated sugar in a shallow bowl. Toss dough balls in the mixture to coat evenly.
  7. Place coated dough balls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each. Cook in batches if needed.
  8. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even browning.
  9. Let churro bites cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. Serve warm with optional chocolate or caramel dip.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Shake or turn the bites halfway through cooking for even browning. Use fresh cinnamon for best flavor. If dough is too sticky, dust hands with flour instead of adding too much flour to dough. Preheating the air fryer is key for perfect crunch. Can bake in a conventional oven at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, but texture will be less crispy.
