This quick and easy Halloween popcorn mix combines salty popcorn, sweet candy corn, and crunchy pretzels coated in white chocolate. It’s the perfect festive snack for parties, movie nights, or last-minute treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups plain popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup unpopped kernels, or use two 3-ounce bags of microwave popcorn, lightly salted, unbuttered)
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup salted pretzel sticks (broken into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1/2 cup roasted salted peanuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Halloween-themed M&Ms
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons orange and black sprinkles (optional)
  • A pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn. If using kernels, pop them in an air popper or on the stovetop with a little oil. You want about 8 cups of popped popcorn. If using microwave popcorn, pop two 3-ounce bags and remove any unpopped kernels. Spread the popcorn out on a baking sheet to cool slightly.
  2. Prep your mix-ins. While the popcorn cools, break the pretzel sticks into 1-inch pieces. Measure out your candy corn, M&Ms, and peanuts (if using).
  3. Melt the white chocolate. Place the white chocolate wafers and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is completely smooth and glossy. This usually takes about 90 seconds total. Stir in the vanilla extract at the end.
  4. Combine everything. Pour the slightly cooled popcorn into a large mixing bowl. Add the pretzel pieces, candy corn, peanuts, and M&Ms. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top, then use a rubber spatula to gently fold everything together.
  5. Spread and set. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the popcorn mixture into an even layer. If using sprinkles and flaky salt, sprinkle them on top now while the chocolate is still wet. Let the mix sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes, or until the white chocolate is fully set. If in a hurry, pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  6. Break it up. Once the chocolate is firm, break the mix into clusters. Serve right away or store for later.

Notes

Use white chocolate melting wafers instead of chips for a smooth melt. Let popcorn cool before adding chocolate to prevent greasiness. For best texture, store in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
