A quick and delicious one-pan meal featuring perfectly caramelized honey garlic salmon and tender-crisp asparagus, ready in under 25 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound, trimmed)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: sesame seeds, sliced green onions, lemon juice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Rinse and pat dry asparagus. Snap off woody ends. Place on one side of the baking sheet, drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat. Spread in a single layer.
  3. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place on the other side of the baking sheet, skin-side down if skin-on. Drizzle with remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic until smooth. Set aside about 2 tablespoons of the glaze for later use.
  5. Roast for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and brush the reserved glaze over the salmon fillets.
  6. Return to oven and roast for another 5-8 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Asparagus should be tender-crisp.
  7. Let rest for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, or lemon juice if desired. Serve directly from the pan.

Notes

Pat salmon dry for better caramelization. Add glaze halfway through cooking to prevent burning. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness. Space ingredients in a single layer to avoid steaming.
