A simple and delicious slow cooker recipe featuring tender chicken thighs cooked in a sticky honey garlic sauce made with just four pantry staples. Perfect for busy weeknights and minimal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup honey (120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (60 ml), low-sodium preferred
  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the chicken thighs. Trim any excess fat.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic until smooth.
  3. Place chicken thighs in a single layer in the slow cooker.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce evenly over the chicken without stirring.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, checking at 4 hours if cooking on low.
  6. Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is thick and sticky.
  7. Use tongs to transfer chicken to plates and spoon extra sauce over the top before serving.

Notes

Use chicken thighs for juicier results; breasts cook faster and can dry out. Do not stir during cooking to allow sauce to thicken. If sauce is too thin after cooking, remove chicken and reduce sauce on high or thicken with cornstarch slurry. Fresh garlic is recommended for best flavor. Leftovers reheat well with a splash of water or broth.
