A refreshing and bubbly summer punch combining fresh strawberries, tangy lemon juice, and sparkling water for a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 4 large lemons, juiced (about 1 cup lemon juice)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (or honey/agave/stevia as substitute)
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 4 cups sparkling water (plain or flavored)
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberry puree by blending hulled and sliced strawberries until smooth, about 30 seconds. Optionally strain through a fine mesh sieve for a seedless punch. Set aside.
  2. Juice the lemons to yield about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Strain to remove seeds and pulp if desired.
  3. Make the lemon syrup by heating granulated sugar and 2 cups cold water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and strawberry puree. Stir gently and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
  5. Just before serving, add 4 cups chilled sparkling water and stir gently to maintain fizz. Add ice cubes and garnish with fresh mint leaves or sliced strawberries.

Notes

Add sparkling water only just before serving to keep the punch bubbly. Stir gently after adding sparkling water to avoid losing fizz. Use ripe strawberries for best flavor. Simple syrup must be cooled before mixing to avoid bitterness. Frozen strawberries can be used if fresh are unavailable, but thaw and drain excess liquid first. Adjust sweetness to taste, especially if using natural sweeteners.
