Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel of Brie cheese (8 oz / 225 g), preferably creamy and mild
  • Optional: 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese or goat cheese for extra creaminess
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) local honey, for drizzling over the brie
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh raspberries (optional)
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh mozzarella balls or sliced jicama
  • 1 cup (150 g) sliced jicama or cauliflower florets (optional)
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh blueberries
  • 6 oz (170 g) thinly sliced salami or prosciutto
  • Assorted crackers or baguette slices
  • Fresh mint or basil leaves for garnish
  • Optional: nuts like almonds or walnuts for crunch

Instructions

  1. Place the wheel of brie in the center or a corner of your board. Warm it slightly in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes if you want it soft and melty. Drizzle 3 tablespoons (45 ml) of honey over the top while still warm.
  2. In the top left corner of the board, neatly place fresh blueberries to represent the blue field of the flag. Use about 1 cup (150 g).
  3. Using sliced strawberries, form horizontal rows across the board starting just below the blueberries. Add raspberries in between if desired.
  4. Between the red stripes, place white elements like fresh mozzarella balls or thin jicama slices. Cauliflower florets can be used as an alternative.
  5. Tuck thin slices of salami or prosciutto along the edges or between stripes. Fold or roll the slices for a prettier display.
  6. Fill any gaps with assorted crackers or baguette slices. Scatter fresh mint or basil leaves around the board. Sprinkle nuts if using.
  7. Drizzle a little extra honey over parts of the board if you want more sweetness. Adjust any pieces that look uneven or crowded.
