A quick and easy fall sangria made with white wine, apple cider, caramel sauce, and cinnamon sticks. This crowd-pleasing drink comes together in minutes and is perfect for autumn gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup bourbon or whiskey (optional)
  • 1 large Granny Smith apple
  • 1 large red apple (Gala or Pink Lady)
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tablespoons extra caramel sauce (for rimming glasses)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Wash and core both apples. Cut into thin slices (about 1/4-inch thick). Leave the skins on. Toss with a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
  2. Pour 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce into a shallow dish. In another dish, mix 1/4 cup granulated sugar with 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Dip the rim of each glass into the caramel sauce, then into the cinnamon sugar. Set aside.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the white wine, apple cider, and bourbon (if using). Stir gently.
  4. Drizzle in 1/2 cup caramel sauce and stir until fully dissolved.
  5. Add the apple slices and cinnamon sticks. Stir gently.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (ideally 4 hours or overnight).
  7. To serve, stir gently and pour into prepared glasses. Include apple slices and a cinnamon stick in each glass.

Notes

For best flavor, chill at least 2 hours (overnight is even better). Remove cinnamon sticks after 24 hours if storing longer. Rim glasses just before serving to prevent stickiness. If wine is too cold, caramel may clump; let wine sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before adding caramel.
