This easy peppermint bark fudge requires only three ingredients and ten minutes of active time, making it the perfect holiday treat for gifting or last-minute hostess gifts. Creamy white chocolate fudge with crunchy peppermint pieces is a crowd-pleaser that looks impressive with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) white chocolate chips (preferably Ghirardelli or Guittard)
  • 14 ounces (396 grams) sweetened condensed milk (one can)
  • 1/2 cup (about 60 grams) crushed peppermint candies (plus 2 tablespoons for topping)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of overhang on two opposite sides. Lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray if desired.
  2. Unwrap about 12-15 candy canes (or enough to get 1/2 cup crushed, plus 2 tablespoons for topping). Place them in a sturdy zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin or heavy skillet until you have a mix of fine powder and small pea-sized chunks. Set aside 2 tablespoons for topping.
  3. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the white chocolate chips and the entire can of sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly with a silicone spatula until the chips are mostly melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove the pan from heat. Immediately stir in 1/2 cup of the crushed peppermint. Work quickly as the mixture will start to thicken.
  5. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Immediately sprinkle the reserved 2 tablespoons of crushed peppermint over the top and gently press them in.
  6. Place the pan in the refrigerator, uncovered, for at least 2 hours (or overnight) until firm.
  7. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Place on a cutting board and cut into 1-inch squares (about 64 pieces). Wipe the knife clean between cuts for neat edges.

Notes

For best results, let sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate chips sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before starting. Do not microwave the chocolate mixture as it can cause graininess. The fudge is actually better on day two or three as the peppermint flavor infuses more deeply. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months. Let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before serving for optimal texture.
